Julian’s faced Dulwich on their home turf at Dulwich Sports Ground for the second game of the season, with fallen leaves and scattered conkers giving a real sense that autumn had arrived.
After a controlled start, Ivy opened the scoring early by running onto a ball over the top, taking a touch, and placing it perfectly into the bottom corner of the net.
It was Ivy again who doubled the lead soon after, controlling a clever ball across the box from Olivia and coolly lifting it over the keeper to secure her brace.
The third goal, late in the half, came from a dangerous corner by Olivia, which sparked a goal-mouth scramble until Zosia seized the opportunity and guided the ball into the net from close range.
Coming out of the break, Dulwich had spells of pressure and played well. But Julian’s defence held firm, with the game seemingly winding down to a goalless second half.
However in the closing stages Anneli produced a moment of brilliance. Picking up the ball with a deft touch in her own half, she spun and embarked on a blistering solo run, cutting through the defence and firing a shot across the goal that snuck past the keeper to make it 4-0, completing another impressive win and securing another clean sheet.
