It was the first game of the season that felt cold, with base layers making an appearance as Julian’s ventured beyond the inner London postcodes to face Bromleians at The John Cooper Ground in Bromley.
Julian’s played some great football in the first half, entering the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead. The opener came from Amira, who pounced on a rebound after a shot from Olivia was saved. The second goal was created by Olivia, driving the ball across the box and forcing an own goal from the opposition.
The second half, however, started in the worst possible way. Julian’s conceded two quick goals — first from an indirect free kick, and then again after a scramble in the box — bringing the score level at 2-2.
With Bromleians full of confidence, the match could have easily slipped away. But Julian’s regained their composure and gradually took back control of the game. In the closing stages, Lauren won a penalty, and Olivia calmly stepped up to convert, securing a nail-biting 3-2 victory.
